I think I'm being followed

Overwhelmed and Tired

This summer had no drama. It was relaxing and honestly somewhat boring.

Then, suddenly, life decides to throw a bunch of things at me, all at once. Firstly, I received a letter from a People To People program inviting me to Europe this summer. It all sounds great, but after some research it seems like it isn't all that it promised.

Then my dad comes home and tells me my grandma has cancer. It isn't curable, he says, but there's a chance she'll survive with chemo. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with this information. How does somebody handle this? How can I go to school and do Geometry when all I'm thinking about is my grandma in the hospital? God, I really don't even know if I'm acting like I feel or how I think people should act when they get news like this. Does that make sense?

Lastly, and least importantly, Geometry is confusing me. And Biology. When would I ever need to find the lateral surface area of a triangular prism in real life?

I can't help but feel that I've been complaining a lot lately. Sorry. I really hope you all have a great week.

Osama bin Laden is dead.

The year is 2060 and your life has passed by so fast. Now you have children and even grandchildren of your own. You sit there smiling and feeling slightly nostalgic as you flip through your old diary showing your grandchildren what it was like "back in the good ol' days". Back when you were young.

Things from my youth that I'll remember:
~the election of President Barack Obama
~the Egyptian revolution
~the earthquake, tsunami, and radiation leaks in Japan
~Libyan revolution
~the 9/11 terrorist attack
~Hurricane Katrina
~surge of gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual suicides
~Columbine High School massacre
~death of Michael Jackson
~earthquake in Haiti
~BP oil spill
~The death of Osama bin Laden, leader of the terrorist organization, al-Qaeda

"It's amazing how much things happened," you muse. You turn a page, still far from the end.

All around us history is in the making.

Spring is a tease.

It gives you a sweet taste of Summer and then, just as quickly, snatches it away.

I can't believe Summer's almost here. As much as I'm not going to miss waking up at 6 AM, there are some things I loathe to be leaving (I'm moving after this year's done). Friends, familiarity, normalcy. I hate being the new kid.

Anyway, this is just a short post. I found this article that I really adore. You should check it out. Ugh, and speaking of articles, I have one that I've been ignoring for the past couple of hours, so I should really go.

Ps: I really haven't been on blogger forever (I remember the days when I went on everyday), which makes me feel guilty. I miss you all. I need to find some free time. Forgive me for a little while?

I have a headache.

Today my sister left. My dad forced her to go live with her step mom and father until graduation, because she hasn't been to school here since the beginning of February and lately she's been missing curfew and coming home all tipsy (slurring her words, knocking things over, bloodshot eyes). I don't blame them; they had to do something to get her away from this chaotic mess. She's been doing drugs, drinking, and hanging out with not so nice people, if you know what I mean.

I'm not surprised, I'm not sad, I'm not angry. I'm not . . . anything. Is there something wrong with me?

Before she left, Erin hugged me twice. That shocked me. I guess I forgot that no matter how much my older sister may hate me, she kinda loves me too.

I feel like I'm being extremely dramatic.

Zombies & Such

Hey, loves. I haven't been posting lately as I wish I could. I'm really trying to get back into the swing of things, but do you ever have times when you think you just might be done with your to-do list, then all of a sudden another thing is added?  =/

I'm mostly nervous about this KMEA judging thing for orchestra. We've gotten distinguished every year and now I'm first chair, so I'm freaking out. I don't want to mess it up for everyone.

On a happier note, I saw the movie I Am Number Four Sunday. It was amazing; I can't wait to pick up the book. I also went over to my friend Kirsten's house. We got bored, so they zombie-fied me. The fake blood took forever to come off, and even then my skin was pink!

These probably weren't the best pictures to show you; I look so weird. And for some reason, the fake blood is neon in the second one.  =) Oh, and another thing that's bugging me: my sister's friend is being bullied at her school. She's continually told the teachers, but they have yet to take action to stop it from happening. *sigh* How could I help? Any ideas?
